A sweet tart cranberry chutney with apples, onions, celery, spices and a splash of orange liqueur. A must have dish on any holiday table. Can be made slow cooker or stove top.
2cupsapplespeeled and chopped into half inch pieces (5-6 apples depending on size)
1cupcelerygreen parts only, chopped
Optional - 1 shot1.5 oz orange liqueur
Instructions
Rinse the cranberries and sort through and discard any overripe or mushy ones. Weigh again to make sure you have 2 pounds of fresh cranberries.
Combine everything in a slow cooker. Set to low for 5 hours. Stir once an hour. Let cool and transfer to an airtight container and chill completely in refrigerator. It will set up more as it chills.
To cook stovetop:
Simmer first 9 ingredients for 45 min. (after bringing to boil). Add last 3 ingredients. Cook for another 15 min. Let cool and transfer to an airtight container and chill completely in refrigerator. It will set up more as it chills.
Notes
This can be served either chilled, room temp or warmed back up.
