Two things in this post. This refreshing sweet mint lassi and an exciting announcement
I made the mango lassi a few weeks ago and talked about how there were also mint lassis served at the wedding I went to. So here is my version of the sweet mint lassi. I am not a HUGE fan of mint ( I blame it on a bad mojito once that tasted more like toothpaste than a yummy cocktail) so I added in less mint than most recipes call for. But that is just my personal preference. If you love the mint – go for it and add more! I made it similar to the mango one using coconut milk, honey and cardamom. I am really loving that flavor combination in these drinks. These lassis really are versatile and you can make the pretty much anyway you want, its basically a yogurt based drink, I think the possibilities are endless!!
Now for the announcement -there is NO secret that Cost Plus World Market is one of my favorite stores. Its so dangerous that there is a store 5 minutes from my house. The sales associates know me by name. I am ok with that! I was there a few weeks ago picking up my usuals such as coffee, rifling through the clearance section for random dishes, napkins, props and to get some coconut milk and saffron for these drinks.
World Market not only carries saffron but a ton of other amazing organic spices for CHEAP that I use all the time, and I am always posting pics on instagram of items I find on my shopping trips there. I don’t buy everything I find ( although I wish I could!) I do have to buy groceries and pay other bills like heat and electricity etc, so mostly I just take the pics show to friends online how cute the stuff is that they carry. Well apparently the powers to be at World Market liked my always posting pics of what I buy and I got an email the other day that made me literally jump up and down with excitement.
I was making these when I heard my email ” beep” and I forget I have one email program that does that. I was literally jaw dropped. I was invited to be a part of the World Market Trendsetter Tribe Ambassador Program. I get to help promote new products, sweepstakes and giveaways and develop recipes!! Such an amazing offer. I couldn’t reply YES fast enough.
Back to this mint lassi for a bit. I was trying to catch good light for these and while I was waiting the saffron was bleeding out into the lassi. I thought it looked cool , however when I loaded up my pics not all were optimal and I decided to take another set and I scooped out the saffron and started over since I liked how they looked with the saffron freshly sprinkled on top. That’s why these look different. I had to shoot quickly since it is starting to warm up here in Vegas. Taking pics of ice cream, smoothies and popsicles is challenging in summertime here. I should just make all my summer items in winter! But I am not that organized ha ha. And I know its technically spring ( and still snowing in some parts of the country) but its already been in the 80′s here!! ( Yes I am LOVING it) so bring on the frozen treats!!
My first “assignment” with World Market is an awesome one. Helping promote their Mother’s Day ” My Amazing Mom Contest and Fan Sweepstakes“.
