    Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Martini

Apparently its Chocolate Dipped Strawberry month on my blog. This time instead of cupcakes, its martinis!! Yay for Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Martinis and they aren't just for any occasion, they are for Galentine's Day!!

What is Galentine's Day?  Well, remember Festivus in December? This is sort of the same, being a made up holiday from a sitcom, but its from a different show, Parks and Recreation. Galentine's Day  happens on February 13th, the day before Valentine's day (duh), and its a way for gals to get together sans significant others and have brunch. So that means waffles and cocktails. Or something like that. I have to be honest, I have never seen the show. I totally had to google it. I LOVE the idea. I am so down with Galentine's Day! Because yum for brunch, especially brunches that have chocolate dipped strawberry martinis.

    Prep Time 5 minutes mins
    Additional Time 10 minutes mins
    Total Time 15 minutes mins
    Servings 2

    Ingredients

    • 3 ounces Vodka, I used Ciroc
    • 3 ounces Creme De Cacao
    • 3 ounces Dark Chocolate Liqueur (I used Thatcher's Organic
    • 4 tablespoon strawberry puree, see notes
    • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
    • 2 ounces dark chocolate for decorating glasses
    • Strawberries for garnish

    Instructions

    • Chill glasses in the freezer
    • Melt the chocolate in a bowl in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir and microwave another 30 seconds until melted and let cool 10 min. Add to a piping bag or plastic baggie and cut a tiny part of the tip of one corner if using a baggie and pipe some in the bottom of the glass and decorate around the rim, making sure there is some around the top of the rim. Set in freezer to firm up.
    • Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and strain into the glasses. Garnish with strawberries and serve

    Notes

To make strawberry puree either use 1 cup fresh strawberries diced or thaw a cup of frozen strawberries.
If using fresh place the strawberries with 2 tablespoon water adn 2 tablespoon sugar in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer stirring until sugar is dissolved and strawberries release their juice. Puree in a blender then chill until ready to use.
If using frozen thaw and place in saucepan juice and 2 tablespoon sugar. Heat until sugar is dissolved then puree in a blender. Chill until ready to use.
You don't have to strain the strawberry puree unless you want to remove the seeds that didn't get blended.
