Red, White and Blue Sangrias are perfect for the Fourth Of July and I made these exclusively for Discover, a blog by World Market. This post is sponsored by World Market.
Fourth of July. When you see all things red, white and blue, especially foods. The majority of what you see these days are off-putting foods that have been so heavily artificially colored into being very unappetizing and almost unedible. I am all for a little goes a long way. I decided to go with something a lot more naturally colored with these Red, White and Blue Sangrias using a wide variety of fruits.
I went with three different Sangrias instead of a red, white and blue all in one glass. This way you can choose your own Sangria and still remain festive and patriotic! Or mix together if you like. But each have their own distinct flavors and fruits, they really taste best on their own, but look pretty next to each other. Especially for a Sangria bar at a holiday party.
The red is a blend of a nice smooth Spanish red table wine, a pomegranate wine spritz, hibiscus pomegranate soda and a splash of apple brandy. The fruits I used are strawberries and pomegranate. You could add in raspberries or red apple slices also if more fruit is desired.
The white sangria is crisp and fruity with tropical notes. I started with a light Italian Pinot Grigio, added in a passion fruit wine spritz, some pineapple vodka and splashes of lime and simple syrup. I used a star shaped cutter to make pineapple stars and julienned green apple slices for stripes. You can also add in white raspberries, white peaches or light fleshed melon. This one was probably my favorite of the three, because, pineapple and passion fruit.
And finally the Blue Sangria. I had fun with this one because when I was shopping for the ingredients at World Market, Jen the sales associate who does all the alcohol ordering, knows my love of all things aqua and she had saved me this delicious blueberry sparkling wine, Blanc De Bleu, that had a light aqua hue to it. I bought a few splits, some for me, some for the Sangria. So incredibly delicious and perfect for the Sangria. This is the only item in all of these sangrias that has a tiny bit of blue coloring added.
For this Sangria, besides the lovely Blanc De Bleu sparkling wine, I used Sauvignon blanc, a delicious lavender soda, New York Seltzer in blueberry and added in fresh blueberries and blackberries.
More details and photos are over at Discover by World Market. Hope you enjoy these Red, White and Blue Sangrias and have a safe and happy Fourth of July!!
